I am thinking about buying a new type S or regular TL with Navi. Can't decide. I like the way this looks. Do they all look like this??

No, that is the aftermarket black wood trim. You may purchase the kit from Here

Like thephantom said.... that's aftermarket and you can buy it on here. I believe that the Type-S is the only model that comes with the blackwood on the ebony interior. The regular TL has woodtrim on both the parchment and ebony interiors, so if you like the blackwood, you'd need to go Type-S!! Good luck

If that's someone's car, I apologize. But I think all that extra blackwood trim is fugly!

I really don't even like the blackwood trim at all, it's too fake looking.

Nothing wrong with a little blackwood...

As far as the kit, yea, don't go overboard. I do like the bowling ball stuff but I think it's tastefully blended in. I personally think Acura nailed the interior design, so I'm not going to mess with a good thing

Ya, licky licky. I like it (didn't add all the pieces) and have got nothing but compliments on it. That pic is a terrible pic by the way, if it looked like that I wouldn't have got it.

I suppose there are those that that have a wood for flat black plastic...

You got that right. That's why I can't wait until the aluminum trim kit that's being produced is released.

Anyone got any updates? The original thread's been closed down.

Nothing but compliments

I definitely like the change from previous wood-tone to the blackwood. As for the extra wood kit, I have to agree, its just too much. Kind of like trying to hard (Think Hyundai with deep dish rims).

I'd like to do my best to put an end to this discussion...

These kits that put the blackwood/marble plastic $hit throughout the dashboard and on the steering wheel are completely tasteless. If you are someone who likes the way that looks; more power to you. But, just know that it is very cheap looking, and represents a very poor attempt to emulate cars like Mercedes and Lexus that are adorned with real wood trim throughout. Someone who replaces the leather on their steering wheel with plastic fake wood...unbelievable!!!

This is not open to debate...you are either tacky or you have taste. It has to do with how you were raised, and who you're family is.

Think about all those people who put aftermarket tail lights on their accords and civics to make their car look like something it isn't. These are low class, no taste, simpletons. Common people with no taste and common values. Pathetic, but they represent a significant portion of our society. These are people that buy living room/bedroom sets at Wickes Furniture or Levitts, and bookcases at IKEA. They're not bad people, they just don't know any better.

This is the world we live in, and you know who you are. Stop pretending to be something you are not. Nobody gives a $hit about what you drive or what the A$$ side of your vehicle looks like. If you need to be noticed in this way, you have severe self-esteem issues.

Does the kit cover the gauges too, or does it go right up to where you put it? To each his own, I say

Nah, it only goes up to where I put it. I agree that the kit can look tacky when it goes to that extreme. I've seen the kits where the whole fvcking car looks like it's covered w/ this $hit. The kit I had even had a trim for the sunglass holder and ashtray.....wtf do I need that for??
I just wanted to cover up that center panel b/c the black wasnt doing it for me.
You're right, to each his own. The car is paid off in full and i'f I want to sqaut on the hood and take a dump on it, then that's what I'll do.....you know why, b/c it's my car :thefinger

I'm thinking to get wood kit but also agree that complete wood kit is too much. So... what areas do you guys think are best for wood trim?

OK, here is the deal. The blackwood kit looks better with the NAV because of the screen. The pictures above does not do justice for the trim, it looks a lot better infront of you. I agree the bowling ball trim is not the best around but if you add the right pieces to your interior then it actually makes your car look more "luxurious".
