I kinda want to buy the spacer and try installing with my 09 tl im. It looks like you will have around 1/2" of extra space with the tl im and from looking at ur pics even if you dremel the hood it still looks like you need a lil closer to 1". Has noone tried this yet still?

having a 09 manifold will mean that you won't have to trim or pop the hood as much, and you may not even have to pop the hood at all
anyways look at e30cabrio's, i think he also has the spacer with the 09 manifold
also civicdrivr i think has it too

and he needs all the help he can get on his slow ass P , to even be able to keep up with a stock S, that had some heavy ass 20" rims on it too (also the S needs a complete tune up also ;plugs, t/belt, valve adjust, etc., etc.)

that 180hp was with it being SAE corrected for the altitude and such, so the denver's altitude doe not matter so much, but yes we are severely down on our power here

i would build teh engine if he wanted to go direct port. bc even with a small 35/50 shot. its alot in each cylinder, like like 50 getting split up in all cylinders. and u always want more.

all electrical connectors are sealed under the hood, so a little water won't hurt a thing under there, but if you take a fire hose (or even a constant garden hose) you might have another story though
remember water comes through the radiater already some, and from the underside also with the wheels spraying it up and such, so i would not be worried about it too much

im afraid to say that a spacer on ur car wont work. u can install one but be sure to give it a goo 4" lift or cut a hole in the hood. with a type s swap u only have 1/4" or clearance between the manifold and hood. but good luck and post pics
