DIY Front Wheel Bearing?
Front right has been making some noise consistent with a wheel bearing.
Ordered a new one & need to replace it. Pretty sure these have to be pressed out.
How much of this can I do in my driveway pretty much with just hand tools? I know the hub nut is a pain to remove, but I haven't had it taken apart past there before.
Might be able to get a friend that works in a shop to help with it, but thinking worst case, where I need to get the knuckle pulled & take it to a shop to have the bearing pressed out/in.

Unless you have a press, you will have to have that done. Removing the knuckle is easy and can be done in the driveway. Once removed bring it to a shop to have the old pressed out and the new one pressed in. Then go back and reinstall the knuckle.

No press here. Just hand tools mostly. May be able to borrow a compressor & impact for some of the bigger stuff (hub nut in particular) I don't have a wrench big enough for it currently.
There are a couple small shops near my house, so I may be able to get it pressed pretty easily. Worst case, I'll drive up to my friend's shop & have him do it.

Thanks, I'll see if I can borrow some tools from a friend that has bigger stuff like that.

Silence is bliss. Ended up driving to my dad's shop & doing it there.
Think I need to pull the rotor off & check the shield behind it, getting a squeak at low (1st gear) speeds. Think it might need to be pushed back a bit from being in the press.

Sometimes the little Brake Pads shims (The ones in the bracket itself) get misaligned and scratch the rotor a bit. Check that out first before going full in into the bearing.

Thanks, I'll check that too. I was just planning on pulling the rotor & seeing if it's rubbing on the back.

Thank, all done.
Squeal was from the back plate rubbing on the rotor. Silence, beautiful silence.
