Going to do this for sure but probably wait untill the spring as it's getting cold here. I wonder how much the BMW parts will be up here in Ontario. Any online BMW parts places you can order the stuff from?

Retail on those parts is about $69- $80... I have a wholesale account set up with my local dealer, so I'm cheating :P

Ha! I was drinking a cold beer after I finished the first hole. The cold beer is essential to getting the job done.

stop giving each other kudos and lets get back to
the issue.

if i wire that single filament bulb, to both wires on the
directional light...

it will blink and stay on?.

If you connect the + of both the blinking and running lights in the headlight (the dual filament), it should turn the sidemarker light on with the running light, but when the turn signal in the dual turns ON the sidemarker turns OFF etc... I assume this is how he has it setup.

actually i have to look at it and report back (car's in the shop ) but i have it set up so that the sidemarkers come on like you described w/ the parking lights, but also blink w/ my directionals. the side markers never go off? and if the lights are off the sidemarker still blinks w/ my directional!

Oh..hmm, if the sidemarkers never turn off I would guess that it's just a switched 12V line and the turn signal line then. But if the sidemarkers blink in sync with the turn signal (signal filament off = sidemarker off) I am out of ideas (at least simple wire splicing ideas).

While I personally have the Wing's West front lip, and do not have to remove the lip to access the panel, I cannot vouch for the OEM kit.

On a side note,

/sniffle, ahhh the nostalgia. Hey, thinking about it now, it probably would have been smarter of me to do this in metric instead of imperial, eh?

Question

PARTS NEEDED:
These are the BMW part numbers for the stuff you need:

Clear side markers (they include the amber bulbs):
(1) 63-13-6-906-393
(1) 63-13-6-906-394

Wires:
(2) 61-13-0-006-665
(2) 61-13-0-005-199

Plug Housing:
(2) 61-13-8-365-340
===========================================

What year 745 are these parts from? I'm trying to find out if there's any possibility of using the ones from an '07 or an '08. Thanks!

Well this was done back in '04, so I'd imagine they were from a 2004 745, but I don't see why you can't use any year you want.
