Different size filter CAI
i have a friend with a 02 TL and was looking at two different CAI one is 2 1/2" filter and the other 3" and wanted to know would they see any major difference in performance not sure of the brands but the prices were close

If you plan on getting a larger K&N filter for your CAI, it is possible.. you will just need to do some slight modifying to the interior of your front bumper. You will see around the fog light housing in back these long rubber sticks that are directly behind it. Simply take a sharp knife and cut those off as these hit the larger filter and they will eventually melt onto the filter, causing the filter to bad. I went through 3 filters before I figured out why..

Get a 4" intake. Dont waste your money on the 2.5. You will be choking the TL-S with a 2.5

Is getting a CAI even worth it? I've seen that they either do nothing or even decrease power but then in some rare instances there is a gain.

I haven't seen a car that's lost power by adding a cold air intake. With these engines the more air you can get into them the more power you will make. They are begging for more air.
