Different Grades of Gas...

I recently had to stop and get gas and usually always put 93 Shell V Power in my TL. Well all the pumps at the station were out of 93, so I went with the 89. Since then my car has been running different, not neccesarily bad, but I notice the performance difference. Has anyone else seen this? and should I run the tank to Empty before putting the 93 back in?

Yes, it happens. Just next time, before you fill up on 93 Octane, put injector/fuel cleaner, and then do the fill up. You'll be fine then!

Here's a question for some thought, you go to the gas station, and it has only one pump that serves all three octanes. My question is, of course not everyone uses 93 Octane, how would the outcome of the purity of the gas being 93, with other octane running through the same tube?

Not enough to notice a difference. I prefer a pump with a seperate 93 hose, but I'm sure there are only traces of 87 and 89 in the hose. Especially on a fill up of it being diluted by 10 or more gallons of 93 octane.

A good fuel system treatment is Regane complete fuel system cleaner. For serious cleaning pick up some seafoam.

It doesn't matter that the lower octane fuels run through the same hose. The residual fuel left in the hose is so minimal that it will not impact the quality/octane of the premium fuel. Unless you plan to pump only 20 ounces of gas.
