I'm a newbie, whats the differences between the newer TL's and older ones?

Shape if you mean 1998 or older. I think 2nd generation shape came along in '99.

 

Here is a site that will help you see the changes from the old TL meaning older than 99 model.The 99 model was an all new redesigned TL & then for the 2000 model Acura changed the 4speed Sport-Shift Trans to 5speed Sport -Shift Trans.Acura also changed the Navigation System on the 2000 model to DVD the 2001 model is the same as 2000. When do you suppose they will move on to 3rd gen?

 

I think 2004 must likely its do for a major body change. I think it will get some new engine. I also see maybe AWD & new stabilty control system.
