Difference between front left and right rotors?
Hey everyone,
I just installed some new front rotors from Raybestos bought at Kragen. I installed the left one with no problem and moved onto the right side. And here's where my concern is - the two little screw holes in the new rotor doesnt match up with the holes on the car (the holes for the screws to keep the rotor from moving when removing the tire). It seems like I got two left rotors.
But according to Austin's rotor article, you don't really need those screws. So I installed the rotors anyway. Now I'm wondering if it really matter since these rotors are unslotted anyways.
Thanks for your input.

blank rotors are one fits both sides- the screw is not required
You may have not turned it to the correct place- it can be tricky
The part number on the rotor match what you were supposed to get??
As long as they fit correctly and everything else bolted up- you are good to go
Torque on the bolts, and brake caliper grease on certain parts is critical, if you didnt grease, go back and redo it now, saves noises and problems

The rotor may have been manufactured incorrectly. As long as everything else looks the same you shouldn't have a problem. By the way, did you buy the Aimco (red label) ones or did you buy the Raybestos Advanced technology ones? (black label or blue if it's still PG plus rotors) If you bought the red label ones they'll probably warp in about 6 months. When you go to have them warranty replaced, upgrade to the Advanced Technology ones and pay the difference. They are much better quality due to better manufacturing techniques and quality of raw material.
