Just curious about this. How many people bought their TL with the specific intention to modify it prior to actually owning it. In other words did you decide to mod before you had it or after?
I'm wondering how many people got pulled into the addiction. I bought mine intending to mod it.

I think an aux question should be "did you want to modify your TL after drooling over all the modded TLs on Acurazine?" I know that's what got me started.

When I first bought my TL I didn't think I was the type of person to lower my car and put an exhaust on it. Now I have I/H/E, lowered, pulleys, etc...
I didn't by the car to mod it. I bought the car, found Acurazine.com, then started modding it. But I don't regret it one bit.

Looks like its pretty even. I myself had no intention of modding my TL until I discovered acurazine. I didn't know much about modding or cars in general. This site has definitely taught me a lot

I bought this because I needed 4 doors, I planned on dropping it and that's about it, but after seeing some guys cars like Big Mike 13, xxxboboxxx, and streetdreams I had to do something and being that no one seems to have this green makes it even more fun.

I didn't plan on modifying my TL, but after seeing what other people did with their TLs, it gave me some inspiration. I still want to keep a stock look to the car (No kits or anything), but I have already bought new wheels, dash kit, tint, blue door & dome light bulbs and other accessories for the interior. I'm seriously thinking about a supercharger.

Didn't plan on modding my car until I ran into Acurazine... I was actually looking up a problem I had with the car on google and I ran across forums that linked to this site. Since then... I went from a stock TL-P to a car that can walk the TL-S and compete with the M3.. now that's awesome.
Still more mods to go:
World Sport 2's
Thermoblock spacers
OEM kit
etc. etc. etc. Hey.. maybe a custom fitted supercharger.. who knows?

When I bought my TL 7/99 there weren't many mods for it. Back when www.acura-tl.com was being born, Tim the owner, worked with a lot of manufacturers to help get parts made.
The signature below is the result of his hard work.

You need to order wheels. You know it too. I gave it up and ordered mine a few weeks ago. They are being made now (damn 90 day custom orders

However I should give you a break since you just did an engine swap in a luxury car....

Funny thing is that I had no intentions on modifying my car. Then, like NSXNEXT, I logged onto acura-tl.com ... then the madness started. Met up with good people up in Toronto (Tatewaki, Astroboy, etc) ... now I have what I have ... too bad it's in the shop getting fixed (see other thread).
Now I am pretty much done modifying. I may unload my Volk rims when I pick up my new car next year. Finacee will inherit my car ...
but she's a pretty good driver, so my car will be in good hands. Just have to convince her to park far away in shopping malls to avoid door dings ...

I didn't plan to do any mods except chrome the factory wheels, install lowering springs, tint the windows, install HID fogs, spoiler, body kit, xmradio...ha ha ha !
Seriously, I really planned to keep things modest like tint and chroming the wheels. After joining this dang forum we all know and love as Acurazine, all my plans of no big mods went out the window after seeing how much "mod hook up" potential our cars have!

I started thinking about rims from the start, but once stumbling upon azine I found many other things to do with my money to the car... Rims will come at some point... nothing too showy though... I like the look of the TL-S as it is...
The other thing I knew I wanted to do but still haven't
is put the OEM body kit on it...

I bought a TL because I liked the way they look, ride, etc. stock. It wasn't until I started seeing the mods people were doing that I started to mod my car. I like the car even better with a drop, nice rims, etc. plus I just wanted my car to be different so I did the Inspire rebadge, etc.

Oh damn I misread the thread. I voted "Nope" because I thought the question was "Do you intend to modify". I intend to put Type-S rims on, but that is it. I don't keep cars long term (generally) so there's no point in pouring so much into them. TL turned 65,000 miles today, will be gone in 35k more miles (or sooner)

as one of the senior citizens (relatively) here, i thought my modding days were over. heck i even got a TL-P instead of a TL-S. But modding is an addiction, and its fueled by sites like acurazine.
although i'll only do mods that the wife won't notice ...

Like wheels, coilovers, and a supercharger with upgraded pulley?

Well, she didn't notice my TL-S wheels - although my 6-year old son did, but he's sworn to secrecy. But the rest of the mods will have to be stealthy - no noisy exhaust, no body kits, just a small drop (if at all), and the ride should still be nice and smooth.

I bought the car not even thinking of doing a thing to it. Then I wandered into an upscale parts store to buy a K&N filter cleaning kit and the sales person asked if I wanted to supercharge my TL. I asked how much, and when he told me, I then asked about redoing the suspension. Well, once the car was lowered, it was just natural to get new wheels. And you have to have the go with the show, so then came the CAI then the crank pulley. I have modded the first 4 cars I have owned, but not the 3 before the TL.
