Did it myself. . .Installed NGK plugs

OK so i but the bullet and after getting quotes ranging from $60 - $96 just for labor to install the sparkplugs I did it myself. It was surprisingly easy (except for the back left one, what a pain in the ass) From beginning to end, including two trips to auto zone it took me under an hour.

My question is how do I know they are installed properly? I assume since no lights came on and I dont notice any problems with accelaration, power, etc than they are fine. I dont notice any increase really, but I didnt expect to. .I only did this for better gas mileage. . .

Thanks

As long as you got the right plugs, tightened them down right, and put the wires back in properly, you're fine.

they should be torqued to 13 lb. But if u dont have a torquewrench, 2/3 of a turn is fine.

i changed my plugs at 90k from the originals.

my idle smoothed out a little...other than that....no change.

i noticed my stock plugs were still in good shape.

i'm gonna put these used 90k spark plugs on the black market..

if you did it with the right tools and the car runs you should be fine.... but if you did not torque them, pay special attention to the the next couple of days and see if any thing goes haywire.... congrats.... always good to see a do it yourselfer.....

post pics for Death2Toasters....

Switching to another topic, I just bought the comptech supercharger brand new and I need to get rid of it. a friend of mine told me he could fabricate me a custom exhaust for a turbo. anyways I'm tryin to sell it for $3800 whoever buys it would have to pay for the shipping. email me if you're interested: Pimping_Rides@Hotmail.com

if you need pics to do the spark plugs then maybe you shouldnt try. they are VERY easy to remove.
as for the haywire, if they were installed incorrectly you would have known it right away

ebay is about the cheapest place, other wise if your local parts stores dont have them find a place online and order them

Seriously, if you're getting this nervous over a plug change, maybe you should have paid some one to do it.

id say its worth $60 in labour to know for a fact that they were done right. professionals get paid a fee for a reason, they're qualified, they have the right tools, and they do it day in and day out. sounds worth it to me.
