Did my first powerslide today (pic of skid)

Did my first powerslide today in 1st gear way near the redline on a sharp ass turn and man was it FUUUUUN, my boy was in the car with me and he screamed the whole time hahahahaha. i took a pic of my skid mark, it may be stupid to some but it was an important moment in my life.

And what if you did lose control? Or what if you hit another car? I dont understand how this is of ANY importance. Just my opinion. Not very productive.

yeah and if you would have tagged that curb this would be in the problems area asking if you could fix your car for cheap. you need to be careful out there thats all especially when you have other people in the car with you. because when your behind the wheel you are ultimately responsible for the passengers and thier lives. if you wanna drive like that take it to the track where you can only do harm to yourself

BTW a "powerslide" is when the car is sliding, but completely or almost completely sideways. You have had your first major understeer.

Nice rip.

I 50 mph'd this 25 mph turn everyday on the way home from work.

I love to test out my TL's suspension.

One of my favorite parts of the day.

^^^ Nobody here is perfect. The majority aren't wreckless. If he posted a dyno, timeslip, pic or video of him on a road course/AutoX then I'd be all about it. That's fun and actaully achieving something.

Skidding on a public road around a turn is pointless and proves nothing at all. Wow he didn't crash CONGRATS. I personally don't care what he does, he isn't in my area. How would you feel about this thread if you were posting it describing how you were approaching the corner and some kid in a TL trying to "powerslide" slid into your car?

I dont think skidding around a turn is pointless.... maybe there is more to his story like he was being chased by a swarm of bees, and doing what he did was the only way he could live..... what then huh buddy.....

Either way.. he had fun and he didnt powerslide into my car, or anyone elses, Im sure it would be on here if he did.

that looks like oversteer, not a power slide.

i used to do powersliding and drifing in my e36. i used to be pretty decent at it. then one day i fucked up and spun into a pole. did $4000 worth of damage to a car worth only 6000. never will i beat on my TL like that, catch me on the hwy and ill drop gears but i dont beat on my tires like that. i like having tread. good traction is a valueable thing lol

thank you for all the guys who actually understand, and yea, seems like a major underster, but i was coming in the opposite direction that the picture is facing, it was actually waaaay longer than the skids you see and i got completely sideways. i thought it was interesting to see how fast i could take a sharp turn and test my tl. thats all, i was doing about 45

Should have been able to take that turn much faster than 45. Lord knows ive taken street corners like that closer to the 60 mark without sliding or being out of control.

you are correct but i always did it in empty wet walmart parking lots. thats why imports have a bad rap. cuz they drive like fuckin idiots. racing through areas that have lots of traffic and just blatantly disrespecting the law. yes we all speed thats a give but to be takin turns like that is really dumb. i see its in the country but just be a lil more careful. you wanna drive like that take it to track. autoX you car then post pics. trust me you will recieve alot more love.

I've only done this in my TL in wet parking lots like someone said. I used to do it in the grass in my 93 Civic at a city park.

i agree with some comments that this stunt should not be pulled on a TL. if you have a crappy ride then its alright. btw i loved doing that when i first started to drive in my civic. the longest drift/skid i did was for 2 whole mins during winter WHEN THERE WERE NO CARS, PEOPLE, ANIMALS, etc...was going 60 km/h and pulled the e-brake and after that it was like sliding left then right for like 2mins straight. it was a long wide road and snow/ice/slush on the road. it was awesome.
