very cool
i didn't realize how much power is lost b/w the flywheel (is that where they measure the advertised HP?) and the wheels....are you sure you're driving a Type S?

So what, that is just the max, what about your average gains compare with the stock average.

1. If you made 200HP (without any mods -- and a lot of CLS models made only 200HP at the front wheels dead stock), you could "just round up" as follows:
230 / 200 is a 15% gain (I rounded up -- oh, yes). The 260 HP at the crank would become 260 * 1.15. Using “do-it-in-my-head-math” as follows:
260 + 26 (10% of 260) + 13 (5% of 260) = 299HP (I've read one too many "do math in your head" books... )
Now, Comptech's data is "worded" in a way that makes for some confusion.
The PEAK/MAX/HIGHEST output of their headers is to the front wheels is: 232
The PEAK/MAX/HIGHEST output of their stock CLS to the front wheels is: 208
232 - 208 = 24 HP gain.
Now (most of the CLS dynos) only report around 200HP to the front wheels. So, 200 + 24 = 224 HP!
IMO, that 32HP figure causes nothing but confusion and does more harm than good. They are just finding a place on the curve where the difference is the greatest between the stock and header equipped vehicle -- the info is marketing hype...

Level off with what? Plus you start at 4.8k rpm which is pretty high.

The average gain is what counts for me and not the max. Like comptech claims 17hp max on the headers on a TL-P when the average gain is only 5.5hp.
They claim 32hp gain with the headers on the type S , but average gain is only 8.7hp.
They do look really good, and very good craftmanship.

5.5 average gain for a G...there is no way in hell I would buy them new...comptech is wack for the prices they think they can get for their weak ass shiat...weak exhaust $660...weak headers $1200...weak supercharger $4500...weak ass reputation, priceless...I still think they are a good company, but there are some of us that can wait for a wonderful Japanese company by the name of Greddy to supply competition to the market...If they could supply a demand for 450$ headers to us and other Honda/Acura V6 drivers, then they would be making some serious money Tim...Shyne
