How big is the dent... my Acura dealership had accidentaly slammed my hood down with some kind of tool on the engine block and I got a nice half dollar size upward dent in my hood, luckily they paid for it to get fixed since it was their fault. All I can say is if the dent is about silver dollar sized or smaller, get it banged out. Anything bigger would be more time consuming for a body shop to do and might equal the cost of replacing the hood...just depends on where you bring your car. Just my good luck

A little OT but here goes:

A co-worker and I were driving along a rather small-ish airport and something fell off a plane and hit the hood of his 02' Avalon. An access panel from a Piper, etc. I told him to cover the bare metal with clear fingernail polish till he can get it to the body shop. I never knew he could talk like that.

02Type S where in Gatihersburg you at? I am G'burg also. I did not know there were any A-TL members around in G'Burg. A good Body Shop should be able to re-align your hood easily.
