Dension Ice Link Plus does NOT WORK for 2nd gen TLs

I have a '02 TL-P w/o Nav, and I just went thru 2 different Dension Ice Link Plus units, and apparently the icelink is NOT compatible with our car (even though on the package it clearly has our car listed as being compatible).

Just giving everyone a heads up so they dont have to go thru the crap that I did.

I'm looking at the Neo Ion right now... does anyone know if the Ion loads playlists so that the 1,2,3,4,5,6 buttons on the stereo are linked to 6 diff playlists?

Or is there some other ipod adapter out there that has the same functions as the icelink? (retain steering wheel controls, loads playlists into stereo so you can press a button to change playlists, charges ipod... i don't care if you can use the controls on the ipod while it's hooked up)

Thanks

Somethign defenitely is wrong with the units you were supplied, because many members on this board hae it installed on the 2nd GEN TL"s nav and w/o nav. Inlcuding the CL members too, which is the same HU.

Someone actually did a whole write up and nice DIY on this.

This is the icelink PLUS, not the regular icelink. I have yet to hear anyone successfully install the new icelink. I actually used the DIY for the old icelink to install it, but realized too late that they were using the older icelink model.

Hmm... maybe ur right, the plus just displays text info on some of the Cars that have HU's that support text display, like song title and all that good stuff. Doesn't mean shit for us, but I couldn't imagine just the addition of that feature would not make it work with our cars.

Any how, keep us updated.

I know the 99-01 stereos are slightly different from the '02-'03 stereos.. mainly the 6 CD changer bit... maybe that's making the difference? I don't know, but like I said, this is the 2nd different icelink I've tried so far, and I'm having the same problem-- I can hear music if i start the iPod before I put it in the cradle, otherwise I can't do anything thru the iPod or Stereo. Another member here with a '02 TL was having the same problem.
