Hello goodbadmas,
Tires are my business. It's always better to pass conclusion on a tire if I can see it myself. Bring the tire to a Goodyear company owned store and get their conclusion on the tire and a recommendation.
You mentioned that someone said it was defective. What things on the tire that were odd , did you see that made them conclude that it was defective (was it a tire sepration meaning - looking like it's warped as it spins). Or, does the tire have cracks near/along the treadedge....let me know.
Glad to be of help.......

big bump
Hey juniel,
Thanks for the help ~! actually the people at Pepboys did show me the tire and also, they made a big circle around where there is a big bump on the TIRE ! its on the side ! i saw it before i went to pepboys but i thought it might be something normal !
but then i get there and find out that is the reason that the air won't stay in the tire and it would look like there is a flat !

Sounds like an impact break. Did you hit any bad potholes lately? If it is indeed an impact break, that is not a tire defect. It's a result of an impact the tire causing the steel belts to separate.
NSXNEXT is right. The sideall was cut or pinched between the wheel and maybe a pothole. This was a strong impact ; if it wasn't strong enough, a sideall bubble would occur on the sidewall.
This problem was caused by a road hazard . If you purchased a road hazard (extra tire warranty) plan for this tire, then it should be replaced on a prorate basis. Check what your tire receipt says. Next, match the tire serial (DOT)numbers written on the receipt against the tire serial number actually on the tire to confirm identification.
When you buy tires, I strongly recommend you purchase road hazard on all of them.
Good luck.

i agree on the road hazard policy, the only thing that stinks with these tires is we have to go directly to a michelin dealer instead of our local acura dealership. i have had a few friends go to michelin dealers and they have never warrantied anything.
I had the same thing happen a few days after I sank into a monster pothole. Flatened a half inch legnth of the inner lip on my rim. I changed the tire just to be safe. Side walls dont hold up against rubbing. Even parking your car and rubbing the curb can wear out the sidewall. Tilt down your mirrors when parking
