there's so many ebay listings of steering wheel, both leather and wood grain. but many of them are for/from MDX and RL... so..

i would like to know what steering wheels are interchangable from other acuras that will fit the 2nd gen tl?


there have been many threads started - but all with no def. answer to the question, i would like this thread to end all the speculation. i want a new steering wheel, but wouldn't know which will fit..

can anybody help???

 

the MDX steering wheel fits for sure. darkshear did the swap to get the perforated leather on the wheel. not sure about RL wheel, but MDX wheel for sure.

there is something about newer MDX wheels that won't let it fit on our cars. I forgot exactly but there was a post about it a while back.

If the MDX wheel looks like the one above it won't fit. If it doesn't have those 2 hook things then it will fit. I believe your going to need a pre 2003 steering wheel.

 

i think that a 01-03 mdx wheel should fit.

i think the color they call my steering wheel is taupe (parchment interior)... which color steering wheels can i buy?

for instance, MDX has a "saddle" color.. will that match my airbag color? the last thing i want is the color to be off.

i'm about to bid on a CL wheel 01-03, wondering if the color will match my 2000 tl parchment interior? it says it's saddle brown - will this match my airbag, cause my airbag looks grayish..and not brown..??

Yes; I just installed a Type-S perf wheel in my 2000TL with tan interior, adn the match is flawless! Makes the whole car feel new again! And, I paid 12 bucks from ebay for this wheel and I installed it myself! What a friggin deal! Here's a link. This is a dealer who has plenty of take off wheels they keep putting on ebay:

my friend has a woodgrain steering wheel. but she doesn't know what model acura it's from or what year. she'll send me a picture later, but in the meantime i would like to know if it should look like the leather steering wheel pictured above.

the only way i can tell if it will fit is by looking at the picture. she's in seattle, and there's no other way for me to tell whether it fits. so this is where you guys come in. i'm buying it from her for 100$. but there's no exchange/refund if it doesn't fit.


so tell me what you can, until she sends the pic.

 

Refer to JesusJuice's post above. The wheel should look like the SECOND pic in his post, to be sure it'll fit your 2nd GEN TL.

I was wondering if a RSX or S2K wheel would fit because the tri-spoke is hot. Anyone know?
