Deer vs Acura
So tuesday night I hit a deer with my Tl-S. Hit the deer smack on as it jumped in front of me at the last minute. So then I decided to drive my 94 accord, that has been off the road for awhile. Less than 24 hrs later some lady backed into the accord and did damage. Not sure what insurance is going to do yet in either case, but should find out soon. All this after I just had the tranny replaced.

Wow. At least it didn't go through your windshield.
Was the deer killed by that?
Do you have any idea how fast you were going?
Best of luck with the repairs on both cars!

the deer was dead upon impact. not sure how fast I was going. I'd have to say around 50ish or so, as I was approaching the highway. I'm surprised the air bags didn't go off though?
Still waiting to hear from the insurance on both claims, so we'll see what happens. hopefully I don't get screwed.

Man deer suck. I hate that and im sorry that happens when someone i know hit a deer there insurance didnt spike because it was considered a "no fault accident" Another time my dad hit a deer and all it did was take off his front license plate. That thing was so ugly (it wasnt a state one it was like a business one) the car came with an empty front one so he figured why not put something on it so he puts his company logo and all the deer did was take that thing off so the deer actually improved the car.

Yeah I was making my prediction. I hit a deer and did significantly less damage to a significantly cheaper car a few years back and it was $4000 in damage. I don't see how they think that level of damage will only come out to $4300.

I'm just bumping this thread up ... on my way back to my in-law's house (I'm house-sitting while they are away) ... a deer decides to cross the road where car go 80km/h (50mph) around 9pm tonight. It's really dark there (ie no street lamps) and farm land on both sides of the road.
I am thankful for the xenons we have in the front, the brake setup I have, and the meaty tires (235/40/18) I have for grip. If it weren't for fast reaction and this setup, I am almost positive my car would be totally fawked in the front like this guy's car in the first post.
Just a heads up for everyone -- keep your eyes open and keep your car well maintained.
