Dealership exp with tranny replacement

My car has been giving me trouble shifting 2-3 and 3-4, but only under WOT. I took it to Sterling McCall Acura in Houston and I told them to take it on the freeway because It doesnt shift hard when I drive normally, only when I drive it like its stolen haha. To my surprise, they told me Im getting a new tranny. They also said possibly the PCM might need replacing, all under warrenty of course. I dealt with Carrie Rodriguez at the service center, she was awsome, a far cry to some other service advisors I've dealt with at that dealership. Im going back later today to pick up my loaner.

Call the Dealer and check the minumum age for loaner cars, may be 21 and you dont want any more surprises!

Then again - one must ask, how could you be a member of this forum and not expect the trans to go out?

Yeah im not 21, but i got someone to sign the car for me. They gave me a Silver 06 TSX. Its not as fast as my TL-S, but the handling is tighter. The bluetooth is cool but the voice recognition sucks. Its weird cause the loaner has 13K miles on it, and the tranny is slipping just like my 03 TL with 96K was. Maybe its cause its a rental... hopefully.

Mention the slippage of the loaner car to the Service Manager- there may be probs for Gen 3 Tls and the other cars- may be another whole warranty thing!

i sent my 02 Tls in yesterday for CEL with p0420 code. Dealer called back and fond more codes. They test drive and confirmed the car needs new cat and transmission. Dealer loans me a TSX until the car is fixed, most likely this Friday according to the dealer. The dealer was efficient and painless.

Congrats

You will really enjoy how much better your car is with the new trans

Seems like more Dealers are playing nice-
Acurazine.com works by educating its members, so we show up and take no b.s.!

They told me about 3 days to order the tranny and three to put it in. Hopefully will be the last one for a while.

Its 4 hours total R&R for the transmission and if they are good- the tech will have the old one pulled and just waiting for the freight truck.

I feel that with proper oil changs the new trans will outlast me

I have a 99, Too bad I cant forsee the future and tell when or if my tranny will go out. If its after the 109k miles, I would abuse the trans lol to just mess it up and get a new one.

It's already after 7 years. Your warranty has expired.

My transmission replacement took totally 2 days, including cat replacement and Mike Harvey Acura throw in new Motor mounts with it. So far so good and I have no complaint about Mike Harvey Acura in Burlingame. Service Rep. Darren Fang took good care of me with loaner car and timely notification when my is complete. He is effecient and professional, absolutely no B.S. or trying to sell me something that i don't need.

Great to hear a dealer doing right!

Send a written letter to the dealer and to acura of america
address can be found www.acura.com

They are used to complaints
Letters of thanks go on the wall!

I think I dealt with her one time when I got an oil change.
