dealer won't warranty my warped dash
i finally made an appoinment to have my car check the following:
my check engine light
my vsa and the triangle mark
trunk release cable
window frame tape peeled
warped dash
they gave me a rsx as a loaner, got a call from my service advisor today he said
they say my check engine with vsa is on because of my trans, they will exchange it for another one although i have NEVER experience any slipping or jerking while shifting, actually is pretty smooth.
they already fix my trunk release cable inside the trunk
they will fix my window trim when i bring in for trans
they WON'T fix my warped dash because they say is out of warranty, my warranty expire last month, but i pulled my ligament since end of august so i can't take my car in.
my question is who do i need to talk to about this?
my car is not even daily driven, and it sit at the garage all the time. i bought the vehicle specific sun shade from them and i also use a dash cover when is not in car show. there is only 26k miles right now.
i would really like to get a fix because i want to keep the car for a while. any suggestions?

Try call Acura Client Services
Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM Pacific Standard time at the toll-free number (800) 382-2238
I am pretty sure they will do something about it. Good luck to you. I have a warped dash too, but it doesn't bother me much so I didn't make appointment to dealer for warped dash.

They'll replace the window tape that is peeling but won't replace a dash that is warping (and a very, very common problem for this car, I might add). I had mine replaced already and I looked at a group of Gen2 TL's on several different lots and found that all of them had warped dashes.

Dash warpage
Alright -- I know this one. My 02TLS has a warped dash. The warping is on the the raised roll on the top of the dash. If you look at it from the drivers seat, you can see that the roll goes up and down slightly and is wavey.
I reported it to my Acura dealer and they noted it on my service form. I was told that in order to change the dash, it required the removal of a lot of items. Since the dash has no rattles, I told them to leave it alone for the time being. I have little confidence in my dealership. I can see them replacing the dash only to have a series of rattles there. If it gets worse or if I get a rattle, I will ask for a dash replacement. My car has just over 45k miles. I believe that since they noted the problem prior to the expiration of the warranty, I believe that I can get Acura to fix the problem should it become worse.

if i was you, i wouldnt replace my tranny..
once my original tranny died (74k) miles.. the "replacement" trannies died within 10k miles........ since you dont feel any difference in your shifting.. i think you should wait on that.

Dealer refused my dash fix as well....said it wasn't bad enough to warrant a replacement.
My defrost vents are coming apart from the dash to the point where you can see the yellow foam. Not bad enough my A$$.
I'm approaching 48K miles now and time is running out for me to get this fixed.
What exactly does Acura Client Services do...and how can they ok a fix if they haven't seen my dash. Do they notify the dealer that they have to fix it or what?

Dash replacements shouldn't be this difficult. Mine has been replaced and there are no rattles from the new one - and Nalley Acura (the worst dealership in the southeast) replaced mine.
It's much better new, but be prepared - the airbag cover won't fit correctly and even if it does, it will not match. I had my passenger airbag replaced two weeks after my dash because of this, but I had to do a lot of bitching. It is much better now, though.

update: got a call from my service advisor, said that they will charge me 2-3 hours of labor because it requires more time to remove/reinstall the transmission since my car is modded.
the only modded parts that i have:
icebox
header
downpipe
strut bar
tein suspension with edfc at the shock towers
apex ground
does it sound legit? he said something about my shock tower where they originally use to hold up the engine during transmission change but they can't now because of my mods.

i don't recall much from my tranny replacement, but it's a matter of dropping the subframe and getting access to the tranny. i believe the airbox came out. i don't recall the exhaust manifolds coming out nor anything with the shock towers. is your ground kit in the way - if so, remove it first and anything else so there is nothing to bitch about. what you should do is ask for the bulletin regarding the repair; either from the dealer or client services. it should be detailed to the point where you will know what needs to be removed. if it jives, then i guess they could charge extra but how different can it be from stock?!?!?
