i got a 2002 TL, and like alot of tl's i got that rotor problem, dont let the dealer tell you that they wont fix the problem, they have to, its covered in the warranty up to 62,000 miles, they tried to tell me that they could only change them before 30,000 but that a bunch of bullsh*t, they are forced to change them up to 62,000.....mine are getting changed right now

Could you go into further detail about this? I can see where they would have to fix the problem up to 50K miles (as part of the standard warranty), but how did you come up the 62K number? Did they "fix" the problem by resurfacing the rotors or was it a complete replacement?

Well he hasn't responded with a method to do so, so I will take a shot in the dark.
It may be possible that this issue falls under the "Powertrain Warranty" Which I know in canada would cover us for 5 years or 100 000 km, whichever comes first. So it just might be that Acura has categorized the brakes into the Powertrain warranty, thus covering them until 60-65k miles.
hope this helps. Can someone confirm if my info is correct?

My guess is that he has a Pre-Certified used Acura. When you buy Pre-Certified, they add 12,000 miles and 1 year to the basic warranty so instead of a 4 year/50,000 mile, he has a 5 year/62,000 mile warranty. I think 50,000 miles is the majic number.
Even if you're over, it's worth asking and possibly shooting for a "Goodwill" credit arangement link a 50/50% split with the factory. Let them know you're not satisfied and would like to speak with the factory rep.

my bad, maybe forced was the wrong word.....but whatever...yeah i have a 62,ooo mile bumper to bumper b/c i bought my 2002 used...when they tried to give me the run around and tell me that the rotors where only covered to 30,000 miles i told them that was bull**** and i spoke to the supervisor, i told him that its a known problem that the tl's have bad rotors and that they had to be covered under b2b waranty, i then threatend to speak to the gm, the supervisor decided he would give in and they replaced(not resurfaced) all of my rotors, they couldnt give me a reason how they came up with that 30,000 mile number

had my warped rotors resurfaced at 15k miles, had them work several thousand miles again....went to one dealer, told me it was a one time thing; went to another dealer, told me to bring it back to the first dealer because it was a good will warranty.
I'm pretty mad because a lot off ppl here post that they contiunously get there rotors resurfaced or replaced and here my car is barely drivable....my car SHAKES like hell when i brake
