dealer experiences???
Okay, I was just wondering if you guys had worse or better experiences than me...
My SRS light popped on Thursday, June 5th. I took it to the dealer to have it checked out on that Friday. They said they could take a look at it that day, but I also wanted them to fix the black tape on my door which was bubbling up. They said that would take at least a half a day so how about I bring the car in the next week to get them both fixed. I said fine and we agreed on Thursday, the 12th. I called them on Wednesday to make sure I can come in and they said they were short a few mechanics so they couldn't work on it on Thursday. I said OK and we agreed on Tuesday (today) the 17th. I get there today and everythings great and they told me they'd give me a loaner car and everything. I was hoping to get a nicer car than I have (maybe an RL or even an MDX) to drive for the day while they fix these things. Nope. Enterprise car rental drove up with a white DODGE Stratus. So I told them to fix my trunk which was uneven (the driver side sticks up about 1/2 inch higher than the right side) and check my brakes, too.
WTF, why should I have to drive around a POS like that??? If anything I'd assume they'd give me a nicer car so maybe I'd want to buy one of those when I get sick of my TypeS in the future. I'm 23 years old and I've had my car for 2 years this week. I've been to the dealer plenty of times for so many litttle things that have gone wrong with my car. I'm glad my tranny has held up, but my rotors are warping. I'll probably end up owning 10 more different cars in my life and the likelihood of me owning another Acura is getting smaller by the minute.
Ok, I've vented.

OH yeah, what about having me drive around for 1 1/2 weeks with a car that could potentially have no Airbags. Especially since its been raining every freakin day here in Atlanta (which has some of the worst traffic in the world)

Did someone from the dealer called you afterward? You can usually "vent" to them about how you really feel about their service.
As for car loaner, I got a Dodge Intrepid when my car went in for service. They told me that they don't loan out Acura car. They either give you a ride to/from work or give you a loaner from the rental agency.

At Ramsey Acura you get Integra's they as if you want a 2 or 4 door. At the Park Ave dealer they have TL-P's, RSX and Ford Contours. Kinds sucks if you ask me. My dad has a RX300 and he always drives home with either a new RX, the LX once but mostly the GS!! That's a nice loaner for ya. A co worker always gets the 500 series when he takes his 300 BMW in. Don't know why Acura is so far behind them all!

Be lucky you get a loaner. I am 23 also, and I was told that because of insurance reasons I would not be able to get a loaner car. Good thing I still have my old beater for those occasions when I have to leave the car.
I still can't get over paying 33K for a brand new car and just because I'm under 25 I can't get a loaner which is a standard perk of the service provided by Acura....to date my one gripe with Acura.

Its just an annoyance, I'm moving soon so hopefully the local dealer where I'm moving to will be a little bit friendlier to those who are able to purchase these cars at young ages.

For an oil change, my dealer charges less than $30 and I get a free loaner. Even though they are low end rental cars, I would have it this way then paying $50 or more to get a nicer car for the day. My ego can take it. I'd rather keep the extra change in my pocket.

well I just got back from the dealer and they didn't have my car ready. I understand though because they need to put the black tape on my door and its raining like hell again and they can't do it in the rain or take up garage space so it can dry. So its another day with the Stratus. On a good note, they did say they went ahead and replaced my rotors and pads. I should have asked if they put the same ones on or if they upgraded anything.
