I brought my car to the dealer for the recall and tune up 2day, I tried to get my wrapped brake fixed as well. And the guy with the dealer said the warranty only cover one time brake machining only, and he is trying to charge me for it. Is he trying to rip me off??

 

Yes. Brake rotors are covered under warranty. Brake pads however, aren't. I went to the dealer to have them check on the front rotors and they ended up doing all four.

 

Just don't machine the same rotors more than once....that should be max. If you need 'em machined again - it is time (and much safer) to replace them completely!

 

I brought my car in for a 30,000 mile service and complained about the rotors for the second time and they replaced both the front rotors and pads with "a new type." I do not know if they changed brands but they feel sooooo much better. This was all covered under warranty by the way.

 

thx... so it is cover under warranty... that guy was like change your driving habit..... i was like wtf...
