Day at the track plus BAD Ending!
As some of you guys know I didnt go to the NYC meet because I wanted to go to the track to see what my car could do. Here are the results:
(2000 TL with sway bars and removed resonator)
Run #1 TCS-ON, D5:
R/T: 1.041
60': 2.373
1/8: 10.085
1/4: 15.614
MPH: 89.65
Run #2, TCS-OFF, D5:
R/T: 1.041
60': 3.135
1/8: 11.994
1/4: 17.642
MPH: 88.50
Run #3 TCS-ON, D5:
R/T: .714
60': 2.521
1/8: 10.262
1/4: 15.804
MPH: 89.46
Run #2 was terrible. I had TCS off and I just mashed the gas. I was spinning tires like way down the strip Didn't notice until all these smoke came up on the sides
The times was ok for my first time to the track and still experimenting with the launches. Anyhow, that was the good part of my day.
FOR THE BAD PART!!
I got rear ended!! I was stopping behind some cars at a light and right when I fully stopped a car slammed in the back of me. I was definately mad. But I kept my cool, because sh*t happens and he was cool about it and apologized.
We then started to exchange info and a cop pulled up. To keep it short, no citations were given even though the guy that hit me didnt have his wallet on him and "failed to present a license upon request" But his parent came and picked him up and brought the info.
Any how here is the link to all of the pics for the day (GOOD and BAD)

Damn...sorry about the accident dude...I feel for you! But sh!t let me say that the 300Z got the bad end of that exchange. I was afraid to see what kind of damage your car had after seeing that 300Z. Other than the bent exhaust and damaged bumper, the TL came out smelling like a rose.
BTW - nice reaction time on the 3rd run!
Hope you didn't get hurt in the crash! Good luck with the speedy repair...it hurts me seeing a TL like that.

damn sorry to hear that man, you shoulda went to the NYC meet.
Damn, his car is messed up! Your's is in way better shape.
You know the first time I ever saw the TL was a recovered one from theft, the dark blue one. After seeing that car, I was like damn this car is nice, even though it's stripped and everything, image it new, so that's when I made the decision to get a TL.
Man, sorry about that.
Check out my previous car, that's why I got a TL now.

Thanks for all your comforting responses. I wasn't seriously hurt in the accident. Just a little shaken up and a bit sore. Gonna look around for the best body shop I can find and see how much it will cost.
Sorry about the your Legend but you have a awesome 01 TL now.
Thanks again!

thanks phitl, again man sorry about what happen, hope you find a good shop to fix the TL right back up and start doing it again.
Well, i sold the legend to a neighbor for $2,800 that's a bargain, but it did have 140+K miles on it already and the trans was starting to really slip.
I am glad i have a new tl now though, i really enjoy it.

PhiTL, sorry to hear about your accident. Is it just the rear bumper and exhaust that got damaged or is your trunk damaged as well? I had a similar accident early this year where I got my bumper damaged but my friend owns a body shop and I ended up getting my body kit out of it for $400 or so, can't remember exact figures. Maybe you can get the Comptechs in place of the stock since the stock ones cost pretty damn close to the Comptechs. Hope all goes well for you!

Thanks guys,
I am definately going to get some comptechs in place of the OEM. How did you manage to get the Body kit for $400?
Any way I can get a similar deal? I dont mind paying more but if I can get a better deal on the OEM Body kit, that would be great.

Pretty nice times with stock tires. Get some nice wider rubber and you'll drop it below 15 no problem. I used to light up my stock front tires just by looking at the gas pedal but now it accelerates much better with less wheel spin (not to mention cornering and braking). Good luck on the repair. Also, I weighed my wheels against aftermarket wheels and they are like 4-5 pounds heavier. Getting rid of that unsprung weight with new lighter wheels should add another significant fraction of a second.
