Dashcam - Best Way to Install
I was toying with the idea of purchasing a dashcam. My research pointed to this camera as the most recommended cheap camera going. It does 1080p video and it's about $60. (Check out the videos on the internet - You will be amazed at the quality.)

First problem: I would like to wire it in permanently but I am a little confused about where and how I should do it. (It is going to be mounted on the rear view mirror.) I was thinking about splicing the wiring that goes to the light console or maybe even the wiring into the rear view mirror.
Is this a good idea or should I go into the fuse box?
Second problem: The camera operates on 5 Volts. Do I Frankenstein the lighter adapter it comes with and just stick it up there, or is there another option?
EDIT: I found this unit linked below. What do you guys think about sticking it up there with the sunglass tray?
