Post DASH QUESTION

I love the texture of my dash, but I know it needs protection. What is the best stuff to use? I want low or no gloss. Thanks.

What ever you do do not use Armorall...the guys at my bodyshop despise it dearly...I was using it for a few weeks before they warned me...it left my dash real shiny and I notice that it attracts a lot of dust particles. Now I'm using a product by lexol...forgot the name of it....but its made for vinyl.

Cool

I agree with Juniorbean on the "how-to" articles at this site. I don't want to stray from the "no-links" policy however.
A Dremel tool works well, but it's kind of harsh!

i agree with the "no gloss" look. i used the Armorall "low gloss" on the lower door panels inside, but it still leaves a little shine that i don't like. haven't wiped my dash with anything except for a damp cloth. i'll check out the Lexol product for sure.

I use the Armor All Low Gloss and find it works perfectly. Yes, it has a tiny amount of shine, but without that it wouldn't even look clean! There is very little glare on the windshield and I haven't found that it attracts dust any more than other products.

Why doesn't everybody make cars as well as Acura?

Thumbs up

Hey guys!
There is a company called Griot's Garage. They sell a lot of high end stuff for cars and they marked a product called vinyl and rubber treatment or something like that. It's great and it does not leave everything glossy and attracting dust etc.
Try it you'll like it. They also have this leather aroma spray stuff. The other day I went through the bank drive in window and the chick behind the bulletproof glass asked me if I just bought my car because she said she could smell the leather from the tray that they slid out to get the stuff I sent in. I told her the car was 3months old but it was my baby and I just loved my car. I think next time I cash my expense check I'll ask her out on a date. She is real cute. And she likes Acura's that smell good.

I bought these dry dust mits that you put on your hand. They work really well. Picks up all the dust without any residue. You can get into all the knooks and crannies. Works well on the nav monitor too.

I purchased them at target. There called Pledge dry dust mits.

I like Meguair's Professional line - it uses sesame oil as one of its components, as did Zymol.

The best though is 303 Protectant - no silicones, easy to apply, and after a few days settles into a nice matte finish.

Yep, I've been using Swiffer dusting cloths to clean my dash and leather surfaces. Works great!

I'll echo the thumbs up on the Griot's Garage stuff - it can be a bit pricey, but I've been more than pleased with everything I've bought from them.
