Damn Tranny shifting
3.2TL Type S
My car was not shifting that well so i decided to reset the ECU chip by removing the battery connector and then wait for 15 min and then connect it again. once that was done i let it sit idle for 15 min and took off.
by doing this it got rid of the rough idle and my car shifts like normal now, i was pounding on the tranny on the road i mean really tearing it up for the ECU to learn new shift points. it still shifted rough but not as before, and when you drove normally if shifted smooth with the little jerks when it jumps into gear like all of these damn trannies do.
My question is i took off my car to open my garage gate and then put it back on and when i shifted from park to drive it gave a hard jerk, could this be caused because of hot tranny fluid? before i drove it around it shifted from park normal with the 2 sec delay.
if i do a drain and fill twice on my tranny will that make my car shift smoother?
Thanks for your help!

I know exactly what your talking about.. its almost like a "clunk" sound accompanies with a jerk right? I had that happen to me a couple of times with my 99 Honda Accord and then a few months later the tranny dumped... so I don't know if its symptoms associated with a future tranny failure, but I wouldnt be surprised. How many miles you got on yours? Mine started happening around 55 to 60k.
