This is the 4th time taking my car in for service because of the damn rotors. I'm getting massive steering wheel vibration when braking. They replaced them last time. My car has 40,000 miles.

 

Suggest some aftermarket ones - Rotora's slotted with EBC green stuff

That sucks, I had to take my car back to Acura three times with my headlight problems I had a while back.

 

hey, Im taking my car for inspection on Jan 5th. My tranny is fine with 80Ks already, and I feel if they add an oil jet kit or whatever, they may make it worse. Am I right to worry?

 

I'm in the same boat as you. Got the letter from acura but hesitant to go b/c have no current prob w/ TL.

 

You're right to worry. I agree with you.

I'm sure you've read the stories of some of the members whose transmission worked fine until they got the oil jet kit installed only to have the transmission fail.

The recall letter is sitting in the living room downstairs... I looked at it when it first came, and kind of tossed it aside. I'm not going to have it done as long as possible, if ever, if I can avoid it.

 

the jet kit doesnt cause the tranny to fail. the jet kit has nothing to do with that part that does fail. its for the 2nd gear shaf which if it does fail will cause a SIRIOUS accident. when it goes it doesnt just drop into a lower gear, it locks up the front tires rendering all control impossible

 

they told me at Acura that I dont go, they will void my warranty after I hit 100K, which is 20K away.

Kris, I know, but who knows what other crap they can do. If its not broken, dont fix it, no?

I'll let them inspect it, and then I'll see.

 

id bring it in if it voids the warranty. but the warranty doesnt extend past 100k

i instlled it on my tranny i just installed.
