At least with the stock HID hardware, anything higher than the OEM 4300K rating will put less light on the road.

Nothing is brighter than stock. By changing the K to a higher K all your doing is reducing the useable light and changing the color of them

Nothing is brighter. They are ALL 35 watt bulbs. The only difference is color. The higher you go from 4300 (stock) the less useable light.

why do want to put purple lights?.........thats just pointless.......look the kits that you see on the road and that they look brighter is because alot of people put hids on cars that are not meant to have them..........the kit even the new ones that have come out with a shield on the bulb make the car have a permanent high beam........thats why they "look" brighter.........

My .02, I would listen to the advice above, 4300K is the brightest. After my left light burned out, I was thinking about going 6000K, but people here advised to stay with 4300K if I didn't want to lose visibility. I got the 4300K bulbs and they are bright as hell with a very slight blue hue and I'm more than satisfied with them.

I guess you arent listening. Changing the K WONT make it brighter. They are ALL 35 watt. The only thing your doing is decreasing the amount of useable light and changing the color. Sure they may look brighter in pics, but they arent.

Huh?

People can think what they want, but facts are facts. 4300 bulbs produce the most usable light. Fact, not opinion.

Different type of system on the new german cars
We are driving cars some years old in technology- and so ahead of their time others are just catching up

Do as fsstyms1 says- his words are based on science and fact = knowledge

Get the stock number bulb- Phillips is popular replacement brand, and add Silverstars to your high beam

Those wanting more low level or distant light can add small lights hidden under the bumper in the lower grill fogs and projector long ranges lights

No doubt those will look very bright when you stand in front of the car,
are a great way to attract Police attention
AND
When you sit in the car you will notice LESS visable light on the road in front of you

The light didnt get brighter. You changed the color. The actual useable light in the spectrum went down. You must not do any driving outside the city and under street lights.

Why not just use your high beams when you are not in the city with street lights? Turn off high beams when people are coming towards you, then turn them back on after they pass

About a year ago i saw a civic with an HID conversion and it had to be the 12000K because from far away they looked like a deep purple. I gotta admit, they looked 10x brighter than my 4300K ever did... no BS.

Because you cant always use your high beams and need every bit of light available. My buddy has tried just about every K of HID in his maxima and stock is the best He has 8 k in now and my stock 4300 with 225k miles on them still light up the road better out in ht ecountry with no light. Stock his were brighter than mine. Yes they appear brighter looking at them but they arent while driving.

Also cars that wernt designed for HID usually are brighter due to the headlight design.

Dude, do all the drivers on the road a favor and not get it. Those things are super annoying. If you want something that's brighter and has that purplish/bluish look, do yourself a Retrofit.

I'm going to be doing my retro this saturday and I will be documenting everything. All you have to purchase is the Projectors and D2S bulbs. Withy your stock bulbs, you can probably sell it. So for a bit more money then the 12000k bulbs, you can do it the right way. Trust me, you'll be more satisfied with the Retro fit. It gives you more output and color, rather than just annoying color.

Totally agree. Those bluish purple lights I keep seeing are very annoying and even dangerous. It's never good for only one driver(the one with annoying lights) to be able to see clearly. And fsttyms1 is right. wattage is what lights up the road, not hue.

yeah, i think you need to do some reading up on HIDPLANET.COM. You'll be amazed. Those guys make them headlights bright as sh*t, and those are useable light. You got a lot of options...

Cheap: Tsx projectors -Single Xenon-- bang for it's buck $ 125-175
Average: TL- Bi- Xenon--- very good output $225-275
Expensive- S2000- Single Xenon-- $250- 350... ( best one out there...TL/ZKW can stand up to it though)

I went with the TSX before and they awesome, very nice output and great color. Trust me, you'll be very satisfied with the output and i wouldn't hate you so much if i was driving in front of you. = )

all we need is projectors and bulbs..we already have a ballast...so that'll save a lot of money

dude, this is my cost.. i'm using a hybrid setup, using FX35 projectors, and TSX clear lense...the FX35 are Bi-xenons, so i will be using my high beam housing for city lights...Anyhow..the Fx35 cost 175 and TSX cost 125...D2S bulbs cost 65 on ebay.. Grand total of 365... But..i can sell the left over parts of the TSX housing for about 70 bucks, and the stock bulbs for 40. Also left over from the FX is the lense, maybe for about 40 bucks, so about 215 for the entire setup..Some guy didn't know how much s2000 projectors went for so he sold them for 230...so cheap..i'll be taking lots of pics and a complete right up on it for all you acuraziners... get ready to be amazed!
