2.5 is too much.
unless you have some kind of forced induction.

Custom exhaust

I can't help with your question as I am looking for new mufflers for my 05, I want a deeper tone, not too loud. Any suggestions?

any good brand name aftermarket muffler will give u deeper tone, and as long as u have the stock resonator still on ur exhaust, it wont be loud at all. After i put on magnaflows the tone was deeper but barely louder only on fairly quick accelerations up to 3K rpm.

if you just want deeper sound, go to a mufflers shop (hundreds in every city) and have em cut'n wend a longer resonator on your exhaust...save some cash.

longer as in an 18" or 22" magnaflow muffler/resonator. www.completeexhaust.com , i called over the phone and they gave me really good prices. ask if they have any discounts on magnaflows and they should give a cheaper price than wut they show on their site.

the easiest thing to do is go to a muffler shop and have them make you a system. it is much cheaper and you can really customize the sound that you want. it gets a little trickier with the 04/05 TL because of the better looking tips, but still the same idea...you just have to cut and weld the tips to the new muffler. I make a magnaflow system for my TL and i enjoy the sound quite a bit...its not really loud, but different from the stock tl's. you 2nd gen guys are lucky that you have more to work with than what we have...it would be a lot of fun to experiment around with those systems as well.

Do you have to extend your Y pipe since TL is longer than Accord?

Thanks, this looks like the way to go.
