Custom Charges

I bought some brakes online from Tire Rack shipping to Toronto. I had to pay $63 dollars in customs charges!!!…Versus $90 before with for my wheels and tires! The brakes weight and size are tiny compared to the weight and size of wheels…..

I emailed Tire Rack and they said I could get some money back from Canada Customs. How does that work?

I could have told you ... avoid shipping from US to Canada. Customs will take you to the cleaners. However, if you absolutely have to, have the company send via USPS ... UPS' broker charges an arm & a leg ... (I got scammed C$40 for PIAA fogs!) Now that I have a US mailing address (many friends work there) ... different story.

Sorry if a little O/T ... but maybe Tire Rack will credit your credit card?

if it's a private seller, have them marked as gift. sometimes you can get away with that
