I feel ya... my car's been through some tough times, too. It sucks ass. I've basically stopped caring. I have minor damages to the car right now that I won't even bother fixing until I'm out of school. As long as it's on campus, it's going to keep getting damaged either way.

Wow my estimates ran at -855.95---5.4% tax
-863.26---6.3% tax
-871.38 --7.3% tax
at three different shops
i find it weird everything cost the same at all shops except the tax rates are different???
ohhh wow there going to replace the tailight-- hairline crack in housing and replace bumper
anyone have any good ideas on this????

Get the money for the new bumper from the lady and then try to fix the bumper yourself.. you should be able to pop it out, then go to work with a PorterCable7424 and some good cleaning supplies.
Here are a couple of possible outcomes with the bumper (providing she pays you the money in the estimate):
-The bumper pops out well and you are able to cover up the stress cracks to your desired finish, you are up $$$.
- The bumper pops out well enough and you are NOT able to fix the cracks in the paint, you get the bumper repainted, you are up $$.
- The bumper doesn't pop out. You get a used bumper from a scrap yard and get a paint shop to paint it, you are up $ (a little)
- And the obvious, new bumper and new paint job on bumper, you break even ( but you still got the new tail lights )

I agree with the tailight upgrade. Also like Residual Freedom's thinking...LOL.
Sometimes when people claim they'll pay out of pocket, they pass out when they see the estimate.
Good Luck.
