curbed my wheel today. its a pretty deep scratch on the outer lip couple of inches long. any ideas on what i can do to fix it other than being pissed off about it...?
i called a few wheel repair places and they all charge >$100 to fix wheels.

 

Only thing u can do other than replace new rim is just get recondition on it...
I think that's reasonable price....

 

Sorry to hear that man. Those are some nice lookin wheels. But like Songoku said $100 is pretty reasonable. I've gotten a quote of $150 from a place in Dallas.

So where did you get quotes from? Are they located in Houston? I'm looking to repair one of my SSR's and am willing to pay the $100. Let me know. Thanks.

 

$100 sounds alright. Sorry to hear about that thought... My stock rim is all scrachted, so soon I will get new rims as well

 

man, as soon as i felt the bump against the curb, i knew for sure i'd fvcked the wheel up. it happened while i was parking.. and it just brought me to tears...

try Downtown Wheel Alignment.. 713-659-4952. i just called them up and they charge (wow! kool!) >$45 per wheel depending on the scratch. i'm going there right now to check it out (i work in downtown) and i'll let you know.

 

vincent, i checked out Downtown Wheel.. its a dump. they repair bent wheels and so on but cant do much with the finish on a wheel. he referred me to another guy who's gonna try to polish out the scratch. i'll check it out this weekend. i'll keep you updated.

Thanks for the info. Good luck on the repair. My wheel is slightly bent on the inner lip. Even tho it's not visible, the car shakes at high speeds

 

I bent the outer lip of one of my 19s and then scratch that same rim a couple days later. The bend happened while going under the speed limit, there was a HUGE bump in the road. I have pics and am submitting it to the city. While cramping my wheels when parking on a hill I was too close and cramping them cause the out lip of the rim to touch the curb causing a faint scratch.

I went to Car Nutz, *the* premier wheel shop around here (they are right next to Park Place Ltd, where they sell Ferraris, Lamborginis, etc) and they gave me the number of the guy they take their damaged rims to. I went to him and he charges $70 to fix a bent rim. Not sure what he is charges for a scratch but hes charging between $100 and $130 to fix my bent and scratch rim. Going to go pick it up today. I'll post on the quality of his work and pics of the bent rim and the HUGE ass f*cking bump that bent it.

 

Join the party.. I curbed one rim after a week of ownership, have been extra careful since... But now I have the CL-S wheels on, they still mysteriously get scratched, but not from the curb..

I was gonna say something about someone's elbow scratching your rim, Shoof, but I figured that'd be pretty low, even for me.

 

I also scratch my wheel couple weeks ago. I turn it too close during a turn. It has a 4-5 inches scratch. I search the web. I finally find a shop call Capital Wheels. Today, I just went over there and switch with a new one. It costs me $75.

 

Veloce, sorry I dont remember your name from the last meet. Yeah thats where I went when I bent one of my enkei wheels from my prelude. (I hit a curb going 60 mph!!) ouch! but yea they do a good job and for a cheap price. I recommend going there!
