is it just me or is the cup holders a pain in the ass? i can fit in one easy, but two is impossible.

forget 2 drinks its all over when that happens - all over my lap. which happend to me on the way to vo-tech this morning. good luck at a mod and i would interested in doing one too.

What year is your TL? The 02-03 cupholder insert is better than the 99-01. Then you can even do the 6MT CL cupholder/shifter install.

Yes it does. I've got one in my '00 TL and it's MUCH better than the original crap insert I had. It hold drinks more securely, preventing spills on hard braking/accelerating. It fits in perfectly once you trim some small tabs on the bottom front of the holder. I did it with some wire cutter pliers.

 

On my '02...two is difficult to me. The one in the back has a bigger diameter which doesn't make sense to me. And fitting two in, they always bump in to each other and the rear console. Mine also rattles like crazy.

 

yea, like one drink is easy, but on the back drink if its anything bigger than a can it wont fit

do you know how amazingly crappy the cup holders are in bmws and other more performance oriented vehicles and how nobody complains.

cars are for driving. not for drinking your white chocolate mocha in the morning.
i never allow anyone to drink anything in my car. the only permissible drink is a water bottle and that's drunk my only me.

 

^hahah... agreeable, my girlfriend drives a jetta and her cupholders pop out in a tray like our card holder thing that pops out above our radio, except they fold down and completely block the radio and all its controls! WACK

 

well im not saying others are good, but i did have a ford expedition that had so many cupholders its not even funny, so im just used to it (yes i know its the diff between nice cars and trucks)

 

What are you trying to put in there thats a pain in the ass?? It holds Medium drinks and cans better than most other manufacturers cup holders. The cup holder in the Expedition suck balls! (i have 2 of them) If you plan on going around a corner with a fast food drink cup you better be holding on to it!.

As stated before the 02-03 insert is a direct fit for the 99-01 and really holds the cups/cans. If you want even better get the CL-S/6 cupholder.

 

like if you have a large coke, its fine, but with two? and i have a 97 exppy, and i LOVE the cupholder. maybe its becuase its a 97

 

i keep change in my cup holders. finish drink, drive.

i swapped out my old 99 for the newer holders and they were a godsend. the times i have put drinks in there i've had zero problems.

hell yea man 2 drinks from any fast food place will not fit, lol!!!! i got kids and there are times when i dont have time to cook and get stuck buying fast food, and you know how big those drinks are!

as far as the vw's, i had a 01 jetta and actually liked their cup holders. their found in almost the exact same spot that our cd tray above the radio is found and served their purpose.
to be honest that cd tray above the radio in the tl's is useless, i never use thing!

I have a 97 and a 99, they are the same. Only reason they can hold 2 Large drinks like that is because its a Truck. Its about a foot wider than the TL and can be placed side by side. They still suck big time at holding drinks without tipping over.

Dont get large, get a medium. 2 drinks fit fine.

He actually only had the supersized meals whenever he was asked at the counter, which I think was only 9 times out of the month. Still, eating all that crap for a month is gnarly. Great film. Changed up my eating habits dramatically after watching that film. He also did a TV show called 30 Days or something like that.
