Cupholder doors
For some unknown reason I cannot get the cupholder door half on the passenger side to close completely on my '02 TL. The driver side closes completely but the passenger side will only partially close, maybe 45 degrees closed. I've checked to see if any thing is jammed around the hinges but cannot see anything obstructing the door. Please help!
I've removed the cupholder inserts but how is the door assembly removed so that I can better inspect the problem?
Thanks.

take off your "wood" trim; empty all your stuff out of your center box, there will be 2 screws on the bottom remove those and the other 2 that removing the trim exposed. then you can slide it back and you will see the gears for the doors. You can adjust them pretty easy to remedy that.

Something fell in between the crevise which is on the outside of the door and is preventing it from closing. Do what ou sig said it's really easy to pop the wood trim peices out then just unbolt the cupholders and clean all the nasty junk that's in there.

Yeah, God forbid you have to take it to Columbia. Those !!%@^!'s told me that:
1. A 120K tuneup would be around $1500 (Don's Garage in Erlanger did it for about $800).
2. The O2 sensor in the cat couldn't be replaced without replacing the entire cat for about $1800. ProCare told me two days ago that they would do just the sensor for about $200.
3. That a new cupholder insert was about $50. I walked back to their part department and bought it for $7.50 out the door.
I like their service, but I am just tired of paying for their new remodeling that they do every 18 months.
