Cup holders

I'm kind of fed up already. I know you can fit like a million different sizes of cups in this thing, but I just ride with a can of coke and it rattles all over the place.

I have a 2000 TL-P. Is it true they changed the cup holder design in 2001 or 2002?

And if so can I just go buy the part from the dealer and drop the new one in?

Yes, 2001 and above have redesign cup holders with deeper area to hold the cups. All you have to do is trim two little plastic tabs in the front (nail clipper, dremel tool, etc) and it fits right in. You can buy it from the dealer for under 10 dollars or call 1-888-RAY-LAKS.

11 bucks and change at the dealer. This holder looks like it can do a better job. Testing it out tomorrow on the morning commute. hzm82 is right, just trim off two tabs on the front.

My dealer's parts counter even had free Spunkmeyer cookies, it was stacked.

I have a 2003 TL-S. The first time I had a back seat passenger, she put a 16-ounce bottle of water in one of the center console cupholders. When I braked moderately hard, man oh man, did that bottle of Arrowhead come flying out. Luckily it was only water. Now I politely ask all back seat passengers to put their drinks in the front or hold it in their hands, please.
