CT Icebox

I am going to install the ICEBOX today. Should I reset the ECU or will the ECU adapt to the ICEBOX automatically within a few days....

IMHO (actually, more from post whores everywhere and doing it myself), reset immediately (best done just unhooking the battery during the install), drive the shi+ out of it for about 15 minutes immediately post install, park and let it idle for a few fan cycles, then shut it down...
But what do I know...

'Scuse the dumb question, but why do you need to reset the ECU after/during installation of the icebox? I'd like to know as I'm planning on getting one for my car as well.

I'm as lazy as you guys, 'cuz I'm not gonna find all the threads for you...
The ECU (supposedly, allegedly, rumored, tested, whatever) learns your driving patterns and engine-type modifications. Resetting allows the ECU to adapt to the new product realizing all of the potential gains...
Someone else explain this better...

I think that's a good explanation. Now if someone just knew if the ECU adapts continuously, then I'd be set.

it does .. ECU reprograms itself immediately, you do not need to reset it .. that's wishful thinking by guys that wanna believe there is more hp to be squeezed from simply unhooking and rehooking the battery up.

don't bother, i didn't and i felt all the gains

Give us an update on performance please! I'm staring at my credit card trying to decide yes, or no on purchasing it.
Thanx!
