well my moms car was in the shop so i let her take the tl, and what do ya know, she hits someone. Luckily everyones ok. basically the damage is to the bumper, and one of the lights, but the hood and everything else looks perfect. So i think i just have to replace the bumpber and light. is it worth getting a 3rd party bumper? or just through the dealer?

 

Try junkyards, Ebay, AcuraOEMparts.com , or the dealer. I would even go in that order of search. If you think there is NO other damage, then shell out the money through your own pocket and get it fixed. Post some pictures.. Good luck!

acuraoemparts.com had a front bumper for 231 plus shipping, that sounds good to me. I think ill need a new headlight housing, should i just get another stock one or are there nicer aftermarket ones? ie if its like 100 for stock one vs 110 for a lot better looking aftermarket one ill get the nicer one.

 

check out the black market if you dont mind used headlight housings. if its for a 99 i have 2 passenger side ones 4 sale. pretty good shape. search thru it for what youre looking for

231 is not a bad price for the bumper and if you look on ebay for a headlight you can sometimes find them for less than a hundred bux. Then since you have your bumper off already it would be easy to upgrade the headlights with an aftermarket HID kit and would be cheaper than buying an OEM ballast and bulb

 

I went with after market parts when I cracked up my front end and everything looks mint and exactly identical the OEM. I think its better to buy a new bumper and have it painted fresh than to drop almost as much for a used one. I dont remember how much i paid for mine, but it was less than $250 painted. Headlights were about $100 each or so... Hood was 150 - 200 painted. U can install all that crap urself... but im sure a good body shop wont charge u too much.

Yes, AcuraOemParts.com has good pricing. For the headlights, I believe in the blackmarket there is a pair of "blacked out headlights". If anything just get Depo brand. Keep a eye on Ebay/Blackmarket from time to time.

 

Stick with OEM parts for quality, and fitment.
