Cracking paint and Tranny problems

Has anyone had problems with spider cracking of the paint? I have a 2000 tl and ther are now about 30-50 spots on the car where the paint in cracking ranging from the size of a dime to the sive of a beer can.

Second, I have had tranny problems. It seems to slip between 4th and 5th gear when lugging the car. The dealer flushed the transmission and it seems to have gone away, but with only 36k on it I am a little concerned.

Where are these spider cracks? I assume they are on the plastics of the car and not the metal right?

No, they are on the metal. If you imagine a side window being broken on a car, it is cracking like that. In a round area the size of a silver doller it may have 50+ crack marks in the paint. The paint is not flaking off though.

Did you recently repaint your car?

I have the same problem on my roof. Never did up untill I got to FLorida. Seems the heat is killing my black paint. Looks like the dealer will repaint under warranty.
