CoverCraft Heat shields
I just order the heat shield for my TL, but i have 1 question, i have a passport 8500 and when i put the shield up i will have to take the radar down, can i leave just the suction cup part up and have it still fit well or do i need to take that off too.

I bought one back in September (from this site) and it works very well. I guess it would depend on how far out your suction cups stick out. Basically, your sun visors hold the shield in place. If your suction cups stick out too much then the angle of your shield *may* be too much for your sun visors to reach. Also, your suction cups might be pretty hot after being "cooked" from the front and the back!
I use a cordless radar detector (yeah, I know it's not as good as a V-1 ) so I just take mine down each time.
Let us know how it works out for ya.

flip the shield upside down. that way the v-cut which was designed for the mirror will fit over your radar detector. then just put the shield under your mirror (mirror is still exposed to the sun)and hold it up with the sun visors. i don't think the mirror will get damaged.

Well it came in today and it fits fine with the suction cup parts still on, my only concern is that it it gets really hot with it possibly melt the cups?
