couple roof spoiler options i stumbled upon

here a couple roof spoiler options i came across.......
first one is this rear visor my boy had on his 98 civic..he sold it but kept all the parts including this roof spoiler..so when he came over the other day i notied he had it in the back seat of his new car..so of course out of curiosity i put the damn thing on my tl...fit almost perfect..length is the same..edges of the visor fit the edges or the rear glass perfect..almost as if it were made for a tl...only thing is that it sits bout 1/4 inch of the roof line in the middle..barely noticable cause it made out of the same material the window visors are..it kind of blenda in with the glass..no modification needed..heres the ebay link http://cgi.ebay.com/Honda-Civic-96-9...C294%3A50...im
SECOND ONE ...i was searching ebay when i came across a company selling m5 lip spoilers..on there ad it gives the dimension for the spoiler wich i noticed were considerabley larger than the m3 lips people use as roof spoilers..so i ordered one..and its a lot bigger..same material..i think it will look better than the m3 lip for a roof spoiler cuz its alot bigger...i ordered a 42" one and rounded the edges..waiting for the paint to dry..link http://cgi.ebay.com/M5-Style-Trunk-4...3286.m20.l1116

That looks really good from that angle.

So the 42" one didn't need any custom work other than rounding the corner?

What's the quality like on the rubber?

yup..all you have to do is round the corner of the spoiler so it fits in the corner of the glass..thats it...seriously took me 2 min to do...put the spoiler on the back window..traced were i wanted to cut it on the spoiler with a marker..cut it with a dremel then wet sanded smooth with 320..done..its polyurethane material...same as the m3 lips...very easy to cut

I can kinda see where youre coming from there...I wonder if there is any way to mold it better to the window surround so it follows the curvature? (gradually round out the edges?)

the only way to do that would be to order a larger one on cut it the full shape of the surround..this 42" spoiler ended coming up short were the window gets wider..i almost went with a longer one..but i didnt want to lose the factory edge..if i went with a larger i would have probally ended up hacking the whole ends off..idk..but i see what guys are saying..i didnt take into account that the farther down from the roofline..the glass gets wider

^ That might be something worth trying. I might try it. So all the m5 style spoilers are the same shape right? Just varying lengths for different cars? I see 45,48,49,51, and 52 inches. 45" should be plenty right?

^^^^^^correct..45" should work perfect for that..thats what i was going to go with..just make sure you get the m5 lip from the same seller i got it from...some other companies advertise they are selling these m5 lips..but they are really only the same m3 lips we all get
