Was going home after school. A Countour SVT was charging at stop lights and dusting everything next to it. When the next red light comes up, I was the only car next to it. Wasn't intended to go head to head... but I thought "What the heck"..... pull into SS... however, I made 3 mistakes...

1. The outer side of the road was rough, especially about 10 feet from the redlight, it's ROUGH....

2. I was about 1/2 car behind. My front wheels lines up with his B-Pillar instead of his front wheels.

3. I spinned the tires a bit too much at start up.

Anyways, light turned green, we both jumped on it. He was about 2/3 car in front of me 'til 50km/h. That's when I started pulling away from him, and up to 80km/h he was about 2/3 car behind.

Some of you might be flamming at me for street racing. I know it's wrong.....but it was one of the desserted part of the road and it was so tempting(haven't really give her WOT for weeks).

Also, the SVT driver was VERY good. Probably one of the best I have seen with a stick.

P.S. Learned another thing of my car.... she actually shifts from 1st into 2nd at redline!!! now, I am happy...

I like to hear about other drivers being put in their place by TLs, especially since they probably think it's an embarassing, humiliating defeat! But the Contour SVT is not that fast--a few years ago I compared C&D and R&T numbers and found that it's slower than an Integra GS-R...

ran up on a light against an LS400 yesterday night. i figure, those are supposed to be pretty fast, but i'm in its league. so light turns green, there's a half a second of hesitation, as neither one of us is sure whether the other one is racing (both of us have really dark tint, so we can't see each other ) and then we both take off at WOT. We run neck in neck till about 70, and all the time i can see his headlights in my passenger window, so i'm ahead by just a nose. then there is a merge on the road and he has to slow down and come behind me. as we are coming to a light, he's so eager to go fast that he almost slams into me, cuz i'm in SS and engine braking so there's no brake lights on my car . just a little rush of adrenaline before going to sleep.

YUP!!! when you're in SS and if you're flooring it, it shifts from 1st to 2nd at redline... so you don't even need to put it in D1 --> D2 because it does it for you!! found out about that while i was testing it out in some empty street in yorba linda a couple weeks ago
