2000 TL are you the original owner of the car? I'm just wondering if dealers will work with customers who have been bringing their cars in as opposed to someone they've never seen?

Yes, I am the original owner and I've been going to the same dealer for 10 years. I suppose that helped.

I've also been fairly honest with the service folks. I've had my neighbor work on my car because he needed the $$ and was much cheaper than the dealer. They seemed okay with that.

It can help if the Service Manager has some history of your car- especially in cases of Goodwill- its their time and loss of income to the shop of what acura pays them versus retail rate

It is not required in order to get your warranty claim on the trans
