Does tinting my windows attract cops?

Re: cops

I also have a 2000 SSM with tinted windows. I haven't been bothered yet by cops (knock on wood)

If you see a cop pull up next to you or something like that, just roll down the windows.

Depends what state you live in, what area you live in and what the legal tint limit is. 25% is dark. Here in MA 35% is the limit and you can definitely see a difference between the two. If it's legal where you are, I doubt you'd be that much more of an attraction.

I agree see the state laws....I know Florida has no tint law? (correct me if I am wrong)...

However if you were to roll down your windows during the dead of winter when it is about -5 degrees I think the cops would suspect something??? LOL

You would be incorrect, we do have laws regarding tint.

FL tint laws are you cant have the strip in the front down past the little arrow that is printed on your front windshield and you cant have tint on the front windows darker than 20%. i have 5% tint all around and my strip goes down about ten inches. i have gotten two tickets for it and both times i got pulled because the front was down to far.

In Miami I dont think cops will pull you over for illegal tints. Most of my friends have them and havent had any problems. Now if you get pulled over for something else the cops usually mention your tints. But if you get pulled over you just roll the windows down and the cops dont know the differnce. But to the 20% tint law...I thought you can go as dark as you want on any window besides the front two.

I have looked it up online and had 3 tint shops tell me the legal limit was 35% up front and 20% in the rear. Since i just moved down to Florida i figured i would go with the legal and than realized it isnt abnormal to see 5% limo tint all around and like 35 or 50% front windshield here

all of you guys are wrong about FL, including those tint shops. youre allowed to have up to 15% in the back and 28% in the front.
