I have visited my dealer last week to change engine oil and I have been advised by them that coolant is now a maintenance free item on TL.
This means that as far as the amount of coolant is much enough, no need to change it.
I live in Yokohama, Japan and the temperature varies from 5C below zero (22F) to 34 C (93F).
This advise has been done on this climate condition here.

easy

Check out the do-it-yourself section of the Mobil 1 website for flush instructions. If you're not flushing it, then just drain out the old stuff and pour in new antifreeze.

It's pretty straight forward. Haven't done it on the TL specifically, but it should be the same. Buy whatever the dealer recomends.

Amfiabe, are you sure you never have to touch the coolant? I know they have extended life coolant that can last a really long time, but I've never heard of any coolant that never needs to be changed.

Medic,
I could get an official information on this issue from Customer Service of HONDA headquarter of Japan as follows.
"UA4 has LLC (Long Life Coolant) from the factory. The coolant should be changed first time after 11 years or 200,000km (or 125,000mile) which is earlier. After the first change, it is recommended to change after 6 years or 120,000km (or 75,000mile) which is earlier. However it is necessary to check if the amount of coolant is much enough. Once the amount was not much enough, adding coolant is required"
This comment has been done for my Saber (UA4, 2002 TL with 2.5L V6) but I believe that the issue can be read for UA5 also.
Because my dealer said that UA4 and UA5 (sold as 3.2 Type-S in Japan) has same radiator and related equipments.

No way, owner's manual says to change it every 3 years or 30-45K miles.

Oh, sorry I did not realize you are from Japan.

Your cars are probably much better, here in US we get left overs
Does Honda/Acura have the same transmission problems people are having in US?

No problem at all.
Not so many TL owners posts from Japan.
But I always enjoy browsing this forum very much.

Oh, no.
I believe that mine has been manufactured in same plant where yours has been made.
And I am very proud of the fact.c

Actually the sales of TL in Japan is very poor.
Only 5,000 - 6,000 TLs are sold in one year here even though TOYOTA Mark II is sold 10,000 per MONTH.
My dealer told me that he has never heard about the tranny problem of TL in Japan.
In Japan nearly 70% of TL in Japan has 2.5L engine like mine, although other 30% has 3.2L of 225HP or 260HP.
It is my personal opinion that the less torque helps our tranny have less stress.
