convert FWD to RWD???

Hey does anyone know about how much it would cost to convert my 1999 TL to RWD? And also, where could I get it done?

doubt it would be worth it - you need a drive shaft, then have to get rid of the front CV joints so the entire front end would need overhaul and there is not enough of a tunnel oin the floor and you need rear differential and gears and probably a different axle - get a used BMW or other rwd -

any thing is possible with the right amount of money, but why would you want to? just buy a car that is already a RWD. i.e. G35, BMW, Mercedes.ect.....

You can't seriously be considering this, can you? You could sell your TL and buy a G35 for less than the difference it would cost to make such a foolhardy conversion.

I agree with the above get a different car...

You really want to change the way the engine sits in your car? (It's horizontal now, you going to rotate it so it's vertical?) I don't think it's possible.

Even if it was you won't have the same car as before... Just sit there and think of that bolt the mechanic left sitting on his bench as you drive off. A few miles down the road you'll figure it out.

are you kidding man...might as well convert your TL into a convertible..

I remember when I used to own a Dodge Ram truck that was only a V6 and I sooooooo very badly wanted to... somehow, drop a V8 in there, and after asking around... I realized what a dumb idea it was... it would cheaper to sell my V6 and buy a used V8 with less miles.

...and I'm no mechanic, but switching from a V6 to a V8 in a Dodge Ram truck would be less work (and money) than converting a TL from FWD to RWD.

I'm sure you could convert your TL to a sailboat as well but that doesn't mean you should.

Get a G35 or G35coupe!
