Continuous Clicking sound/turn signals delay

I've been hearing some continuous clicking noise that has been coming from somewhere in the engine or near there. It sort've sounds like its coming from my dashboard too but I'm not quite sure but you can only hear it from the inside of the car and it gets annoying. Sometimes the clicking is not there and occasionally it decides to come back. Does this have anything to do with not warming the car up or the cold?

My blinks had a huge delay today. I switch the left blinkers on but didnt work neither did the right. So i switched it off and tried again a few minutes later and it was fine..
I have hyperflash blinkers and this morning in buffalo temperature was around the 20.. there was frozen ice all over my car so I'm guessing the blinkers delayed because of the cold? is that possible lol.

Thanks any input would help.

Since it was so cold, do you think synthetic fluid would help?

do you hear anything else other than the clicking? like a whirrrrr noise but very faint. try it in your driveway or on a level surface. may have to get close to hear it. if so, check the fluid - you may have to add some.

The fluid that helps ensure a steady rate of blinking. If it's low, the blinking rate may be very unstable or erratic, or even prohibit blinking altogether.

Since the act of "blinking" the lights means turning them on & off at a defined rate, the transistors which switch the power to the lights on & off may fail early if they are not adequately lubricated - hence the need for blinker fluid. It's an electromechanical thermodynamic lubricant.

I wish you guys would put comedy/sarcasm/total bs in RED type please
Noobs are easily mislead by otherwise credible sources~

call a parts store or 2 in your town- tell them your car model -year and ask for a turn signal flasher relay
relays run the power to things nowadays

but if you want the flasher fluid, its located next to the camfibrillator grease at major parts stores

you paid too much

was that for the fluid or did you go straight to the relay? sometimes that works also.

Are you blinkers sluggish? Do they make an annoying ticking noise? Do they not flash fast enough? Here's your solution. Little do people know, factory quality blinker fluid should be changed every 150,000 blinks. Our blinker fluid lasts ten times that. KaleCoAuto high quality synthetic blinker fluid meets the highest DOT standards while not being in the least bit DOT legal! KaleCoAuto blinker fluid provides you with thousands of hours of reliable blinking without the wear and tear on the flash-synchro's that the other blinker fluids cause. KaleCoAuto blinker fluid will not lose its viscosity even in the most extreme situations. Why buy that old dino-blinker fluid, when you can get our unique patented synthetic formula? Satisfaction guaranteed!! For use in any car.

QFT.

They need to make sure this is part of every manufacturers maintenance program. I'm not sure why they have yet to do it.

I hear changing your muffler bearings helps with fuel efficiency as well after 50,000 miles.

I am looking into the O-pipe exhaust (dual exhaust, of course) for my honda civic. The back pressure it will provide will certainly bump up my MPG's

Great read for a Friday afternoon. Hilarious.

Not to hijack this, but I had a guy search every motor pool in the battalion for headlight fluid. I was training him as a driver for the Bradley (I ran over a vw jetta so they pulled me out of the drivers hatch - shit you not though, they made me the gunner. Guess they thought I'd do less damage with a 25mm chain gun? Army infinite wisdom at it's best).

Anyway one of the seals for the headlight lens was bad and condensation would form on the inside. Had him convinced that there was fluid in there to keep the elements from breaking with all the vibration of a tracked vehicle. I pointed out the "good" one (with no condensation) to show him that it was still full and that the fluid from the other one had indeed all leaked out again.

On some cars there is brake light fluid though

Supposedly some older car(s) has a hydraulic switch which when triggered will set off the brake lights. Of course it was no different than clutch fluid.... just good old brake fluid

OK guys, enough. I think he learned his lesson.

The clicking you're hearing is probably coming from the purge control solenoid. It's located under the hood attached to the driver's side shock tower.

Part #2 (top right)
