Continual hissing sound
Car is a 03 TL-S. I notice there is a hissing sound that occurs evern minute or so, and lasts for about 5 seconds. Seems to be coming from the front passenger side and sounds like air bleeding. What might it be?

are you sure it's not coming from the driver's front? if it is, it's probably the intake drawing in air - but then again it's continuous and not every minute or so.

I am thinking it's the climate control. When the unit is off, no sound. If no, it is periodic. No biggie I guess. It is supposed to be audible? I don't mean sound of the fan, but the hiss.

Found this online:
"The copper lines carry both liquid (small line) and a high velocity gas (large insulated line). A hissing sound is normal during operation and for a little while after the unit shuts off. The only time I would be concerned about the hissing is if the cooling performance has been deteriorating or if the hissing is intermittent every few seconds. If you are getting an intermittent rush/hiss noise coupled with poor performace, you may have a problem with low refrigerant charge and you should call in a pro to look at the system."
This is general so not sure if it applies to our cars setup (I'm not one to mess with the A/C). In searching online though I found more than a handful of concerns with a hissing noise so it seems common. I guess it would depend on how profound the hiss is.

I just bought my 03 type S last week and have noticed the same sound coming from the same place at the same interval. I think it may have something to do with the expansion valve leading to the evaporator. I don't think anybody but me really notices it .... I guess I can live with it as long as it keep blowing cold. It would be nice to know if there was a fix.
