Comptech vs H&R OE Springs

Okay, I searched and read and searched and read and I still didn't find the specific information I was looking for.

I put 18's with 225/40's on my TL-S. Looks good, but the wheel well gap is a bit larger than I would like (me and a few thousand other TL-S owners I see). Like look at the BMW 3-series - much smaller gap. Maybe it is the diff between FWD and RWD or BMW has just got a better suspsension (probably both).

Anyway, I would like to close the gap a little but I am not willing to sacrifice ride quality except just a minor minor amount. More importantly, I am actually MORE concerned about scraping the front underbody spoiler (I have the OEM underbody spoiler kit) on stuff like your average parking lot curbs. I also expect to have the trunk full of heavy luggage on road trips occasionally and don't want any rubbing (although with 225/40's I should be fine).

So, my question is in two parts, (A) Is there any noticeable ride difference between the H&R OE Springs and the Comptech, and (B) Is the drop on the H&R springs (0.75/0.75) not even worth the cost and hassle??

It seems like something with 1.0/1.25 would be perfect for what I am looking for. At this point I am leaning toward the H&R as I only want about 1" drop to get just a bit less gap without sacrificing ground clearance.

Help. I need advice. Keep in mind, I'm a guy with two kids, not a street racer looking for that "riced out" look. Maybe I should just leave it stock?

From what I have heard from others, the H&R OE end up being an inch drop after they settle a bit..

In your situation, I would get the H&R becuase it is less of a drop but still cuts some of the wheel gap down, should give you more handling as well..

but mainly, I think the H&R are better for you because you are worried about scraping, especially with a kit..
and the H&R are about $100 less than the Comptechs..

there is a difference in the drop between the two, that 3/4 inch more drop on the Comptechs is noticable..
but with 18" wheels, the wheel gap looks less because you have more of the wheel showing instead of tire..

oe's ride quality is very similar to stock. the only time you can tell is if you go over VERY ruff roads. As far ar rubbing i dont rub even w/ 5 people in the car and i have 19's.

Is that "kit" made by Adobe?

Is it me or does that look like a Photoshop job. It just looks a little suspect to me. If it's real, who makes it?

I agree with Birjup--I think the image is reversed. Sure the sticker might be put on backwards, but in the picture he's parked facing the wrong way on the street. If the image were reversed, that would be the driver's side we're looking at and it would be facing the right way in a normal photo. Plus, after all that don't forget my original point about the gas filler door. In this picture it is on the *passenger* side. All current Acura models have the filler door on the *driver* side.
