Sounds great. The only complaint from me is the "droan" you'll get on the highway at around 2000 rpms.

The exhaust sounds nice. Sounds very aggressive at startup although it isn't nearly as loud on the TL during normal driving cuz the TL has 2 resonators where as the CL only has one. The droan is pretty noticeable though.

It'd probably be a little bit better with the B-Pipe which will replace one of the resonators... I only have the axlebacks.

But it isn't super loud or anything ... which is good depending on what you're looking for.

Thanks for the good replies guys. (except for the people who always need to post just to tell someone to search...I understand the search tool just fine and if I found what I was looking for this thread wouldn't exist) they can get a life and get out of my thread.

Does anyone have a full-cat back? How does it sound having the b-pipe also?

I imagine this refers to the noise from the exhaust during regular driving speeds (lower rpms) and at idle. Like a humming... the sound of the exhaust gases passing through a more free-flowing exhaust. (the sound that the factory removes by making more restrictive exhausts).

The b-pipe makes the exhaust louder and increases the droan.

Yeah sorry, I didn't mean to imply that adding the B-pipe would decrease the droaning. The CL only has one resonator on the exhaust while the TL has 2 resonators. This makes the CL's exhaust sound louder than the TL with aftermarket axleback exhausts. What I meant to say was that adding the B-Pipe should allow the car to sound more aggressive than with just the axlebacks. Steve's car when it was N/A (hard to compare the sound between the two now that he's got the S/C) definitely sounded more aggressive than my car with just the Axlebacks.

So... with all that has been said above, I have a question. If you were to add the CT B-pipe to a stock Y pipe and mufflers set up on a TL-P (dont worry, I have my ways of making it fit) would you guys think that "droning" will be present, or just a deeper tone...

I had a full catback (magnaflow) at one point and really could not stand it for more than a day, I want to increase some air flow, due to my mods up front. Considering the TL-P exhaust is a bit more restrictive.

So bottom line, I will be intereseted in doing this custom mod, if no droning is present, and I can obtain a slightly deeper tone, while gaining "some" perfomance.

Let me know your thoughts....

So you are saying use the Comptech B-pipe, then instead of connecting the comptech y-pipe, use the stock pipe and mufflers? You wouldn't pick up any noticable power. Not worth the effort or the money.

You can use the Comptech quiet tip inserts to remove the droan.

Yes, so... even though with the TL-P piping being more restrictive, you guys don't think that by adding the B-pipe to the stock mufflers will not yield any gains.... and the droaning will be inevitable... Is that correct?

Been driving on my Tl-S Comptech intake, headers, and stock B-pipe with Comptech Axle backs now for about a week. I love the sound above 2000 rpm when you're on the throttle. The car sounds wicked. but when you let it just cruise along in 5th on the Highway, it's enough to drive (me) crazy. As far as I can tell the only thing you would be changing with the comptech Bpipe would be their resonator that comes on it.

Even with b-pipe and mufflers you'd only pick up 5whp.

The cost isn't worth it unless you want the sound, or you have forced induction/nitrous.

a really bass like sound that happens when u remove or replace the stock resonator. Its just like a "BRMMMMMMMMMMMMMM" in the cabin at around 2000 RPM. If u have an aftermarket exhaust and replace ur resonator w/ a pipe or dont put ne other type of aftermarket resonator, prepare for some hearing loss over time.

o an does neone else think the comptech b-pipe is a HUGE waste of money? u can always buy ur own piping and have a muffler shop weld it on or just have them weld their own piping for a hell of a lot less

This is great feedback guys, thanks for keeping a clean and productive discussion. You see... that's exactly what I don't want "droning". I have friend in town how is giving me his CT B-pipe, so I was just contemplating the idea, since I could have it mandrel bent to meet up and hook up with my CAT, which is the main diff, with the TL-P from the TL-S.

I had my experience with a full CAT in the past, and like I said before, did not enjoy it at all. So... do you guys think that maybe mounting the TL-S stcok exhaust will provide any gains at all, with a slightly deeper tone?

If so, I might consider that... I can get those around here very cheap if not free. I just feel like I have to some how complete my set up, due to my CT Headers and Icebox up front. So if the TL-S is more "free" flowing than the TL-P and I'm sure the type-s does not droan, that might be my best option... let me know your thoughts?

Thanks fellas!
