Question Comptech Springs

I know this subject has probably been covered many times, but I just became a memeber and was wanting some feedback. I have an 02 TL Type S that I added the Acura rear spoiler to. I think it looks horrible, but it's just a little too late to take it off now that there are holes in the trunk. Anyway, I believe that the reason I don't like it is because it for some reason really makes you notice how much wheel gap there is on the car. I have ordered Comptech Springs for the car and they should be here in a couple of days. Before I put them on and make a mistake, I was wondering if some of you could tell me two things:
1.) What is the actual drop these springs are going to give? Comptech told me 1' in back and 1.25' in front. Sense then I have read about 9 different things. Nobody has said they go beyond 2', but that's a lot more than Comptech said they would.
2.) My friends keep asking me this, and it is something I never thought of until they did. Do the springs make the car bouncy? Meaning, when you're cruising at about 85mph, does the car start getting unsettled?

That's it for now. I think I will really like the spoiler as much as I do the rest of the car once it is lowered properly. Thanks for the help.

1) of course there will be slight variations, but I think the figures that Comptech quotes are pretty close to what you can expect. In my case I think I got 1.5" front, 1.25" rear.

2) Do the springs make the car more bouncy? If anything, they make the car more stable at high speeds due to the lower center of gravity. Over rough roads, perhaps you might feel the imperfections a little more than with the cushy OEM springs, but not in such a manner that the ride ever becomes uncomfortable. All in all, the Comptech springs are a safe, worthwhile mod, that make your car look and handle exponentially better.

I was also hesistant before buying these springs, as I had never lowered any of my cars before. I'm so glad that I did, however, and would do it again in an instant.

Will it improve the look of your spoiler? I think the OEM spoiler looks bad on all TLs.. whether they be Comptech dropped or not

To me, the body kit does wonders to improve the look of the spoiler. Just my 2 cents.

I love my Comptechs. I actually think the ride is better because it's less bouncy with the Comptechs than it is with the stock springs. Rough roads are worse, but all in all, the springs are a definite improvement in looks and handling.

I have also thought of getting springs. I havent changed springs on any car before, but it sounds like a worthwhile mod. About how much did you guys have to pay for the install, I usually install my own mods, but think this is better left to the pros.

I had a 1.75" drop in the front and a 1.5" drop in the rear. Tint your windows too if you havent already, I have tinted windows, Comptech Springs, and a spoiler. I love how my car looks

You'll find very few people who have tried both the Eibach's and the Comptech's. That being said, the general consensus on this site is that the Comptechs are the best springs for our car.

I did a lot of research before purchasing the Comptechs, and I couldn't be happier. Spend a day or two reading the archives on this site and you'll find tons of info.

The Eibach's will drop the car a little more, but the ride will probably not be as good and you will need a camber kit ($$) since they drop the car so much. Comptechs do not require a camber kit.

I would say the H&R Sports are the best springs out there for our car. Better quality, and besides, they are progressive AND linear. Oh, did I mention price? Mine cost $120, and instal was only $100. As for ride during normal driving conditions, both are probably equal, but I would put money on the H&R's handlingbetter during extreme driving. H&R's give you an even drop, front and rear. The only reason I would say to buy Comptechs, is if you plan to put a HEAVY system in your trunk, because with the raked looked, you have the extra wheel well gap to play with for the weight of a stereo system.
